Read All About It!

According to the local history book “Reminiscences of Celina”  the first edition of  The Celina Record newspaper was first published in a little wooden building in the yard of the Langford Lumber Co., with Prior & Greenlee as editors and publishers sometime prior to 1904.   It changed ownership several times finally becoming the property of B. E. O’Brien and his father-in-law in 1936.  It changed locations finally settling into the building now occupied by the Celina Area Heritage Association.

The oldest newspaper in the hands of the Heritage Association is a 1911 edition. We have a partial copy of a 1913 edition, several in the 20’s and 30’s and most of them from 1940 forward. A longtime goal of our group is to copy all and make them available to the public. They are truly a treasure trove of Celina history.

Our hope is that you find them as interesting as we do.
